Multiple players are calling for the AFL to break for a bye this weekend amid the COVID-19 chaos.
The Herald Sun is reporting that players are pushing for the pre-finals bye to be brought forward.
South Australia’s looming seven-day lockdown means the Showdown, between the Power and Crows, could be played this weekend instead of Round 21.
Both clubs were today scheduled to fly out of Adelaide but were halted.
Players and staff from both clubs had their bags packed and were ready to fly out at 4pm, before being told by the AFL to turn around and head home.
It means star Port Adelaide midfielder Travis Boak could be set to play his 300th AFL game in the Showdown.
Port Adelaide are scheduled to host Collingwood on Friday at Adelaide Oval and the Crows are fixtured to meet the Hawks at the same venue on Saturday.
